I got Texas monthly magazine to send me and my great friend fellow photographer Dan Borris to Guadalajara to photograph at a Mariachi festival, with groups going from all over the world. We followed Mariachis to a prison where they played for the prisoners and on a train to the nearby town of Tequila (home of “Tequila”). This faceless Mariachi was a young Mexican boy. I asked him to bend his head.
